Brimrose Corporation of America is a designer, manufacturer, and custom builder of high quality, ruggedized Acousto-Optic (AO) components, AOTF Near Infrared (NIR) spectrometers, AOTF Hyperspectral Imagers (HSI), and more. The company was founded in 1980 by Dr. Ronald Rosemeier with several "Small Business Innovative Research" Grants (SBIRs) and as a defense contractor. Research and development continues to be the backbone of our organization. We have created a culture of freedom to explore and develop new ideas.
The Brimrose headquarters is located north of Baltimore, Maryland, USA in a technology sector known as Hunt Valley. Engineers work to design and have access to our machining for prototypes and custom building. We manufacture all of our products here in the United States, including advanced materials such as crystal growth. Many of our employees have advanced degrees and have been pioneers in their fields of study. We have partners and direct applications solutions support throughout the world.
Brimrose makes things that nobody else does. Our AOTF-NIR spectrometers are space-qualified to go to the Moon. Our AOTF device is slated to go to Mars.
Nobody else makes 1 GHz Acousto-Optic Devices. We dominate the custom-design-and-build photonics market.

President & CEO
Ronald Rosemeier, Ph.D., founded Brimrose Corporation of America in 1980 and has been the company’s CEO ever since. Dr. Rosemeier’s passion is to take scientific concepts and turn them into workable, next-generation products.
Jolanta Soos, PhD
Chief Technology Officer
Jolanta Soos, Ph.D., oversees Brimrose’s technology efforts. Dr. Soos directs the company’s largest commercial operation, the Acousto-Optics Division, which literally makes dozens of customized products for a global constituency, as well as hyperspectral imaging efforts.
Sudhir B Trivedi, PhD
Director of R & D
Sudhir Trivedi, Ph.D., directs Brimrose’s research and development efforts, and is an expert in materials and sensors development. He oversees programs that have led to millions of dollars in federal contracts.

AO Component Division
The AO Component Division custom‑builds acousto‑optic components and fiber‑coupled AO devices for imaging and related applications. These solutions are engineered to meet the unique specifications of research laboratories, universities, and specialized development programs.
Spectrometer Division
The Spectrometer Division supports industrial manufacturers by integrating AOTF‑NIR spectrometers into a wide range of production environments, including pharmaceuticals, food manufacturing, chemical processing, polymer production, and petro‑chemical operations to improve quality control and process consistency.
Hyperspectral Imager Division
The Hyperspectral Imager Division serves all industries supported by Brimrose, with additional use cases in military, medical, and any application where spectral imaging provides operational or analytical advantages.

As the backbone of our technical capabilities, the group has secured multi‑million‑dollar contract awards and drives applied research, technology development, and commercialization. Much of this work is centered at Brimrose Technology Corporation and guided by the Concept to Utilization Committee.
